Users
Research at LEPSIS addresses different road and street users, especially car drivers (with various degrees of driving assistance), cyclists and pedestrians (active modes).
One part deals with the stochastic modeling and probabilistic analysis of behaviors. It finds applications in the evaluation and improvement of the characteristics of road infrastructure and equipment.
A complementary part aims at understanding perceptive and cognitive mechanisms and their disruption by endogeneous factors (age, experience) or exogeneous factors (visibility, ITS, CAV). Applications include making sure that the transport system is consistent with human capabilities, to facilitate mobility in difficult situations and to protect vulnerable road users.
