Road and street transport works as a complex system, its global operation resulting from the behaviours(1) of individual users interacting with other users and adapting to the conditions and situations that they meet.

The multidisciplinary research conducted by LEPSiS focus on the observation and analysis of individual road and street users (drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, more or less assisted and connected) as they interact with their environment, their means of locomotion and the other users (including automated and connected vehicles), in various conditions (configuration, lighting, weather, etc.) and in real or virtual situations. Our activities are thus User-centered and revolve around two complementary research topics: Perception and Virtual Reality.

(1) Behavior = all objectivley observable reactions in response to stimulations from the environment, themselves objectively observable.
